-Saturday, April 11, 2026: Golf Cart Inspections. 11am-3pm. Ohio County Sheriff’s Office. $25. Bring proff of insurance and ID. Checks should be made out to the City of Rising Sun. Inspections to the sally port/garage area t the back of the Sheriff’s Office. 123 S. Mulberry Street, Rising Sun.

-Saturday, April 25, 2026: Rising Sun Opening Day. 9:30am Parade, Picnic, & Ballpark Party. Rising Sun Main Street and Rising Sun Summer League. Enter floats into the parade, shop downtown businesses, wiffleball, homerun derbies and more at the school softball/baseball fields. Reach out to Abby Fox or Jamie Works for more info.

May 2026 Events

-Thursday, May 7-Saturday, May 9, 2026: City of Rising Sun’s Community Yard Sale. Hours/days vary from resident-to-resident. Call City Hall at (812) 438-3340 to add your location to the yard sale list. The list will be released closer to the date.

-Thursday, May 7-Saturday, May 9, 2026: The Phi Beta Psi Sorority Yard Sale. 8:00am-3pm. The local ladies sorority will be under the pavilion at the Visitors Center during the community wide yard sale. Proceeds from the sale benefit cancer research & Ohio County Cancer needs.

-Sunday, May 10, 2026: Mother’s Day.

-Tuesday, May 19, 2026: Ohio River Way Challenge paddlers arriving in Rising Sun. Time TBD.

-Saturday, May 23, 2026: Opening of the City of Rising Sun Community Pool! Info: (812) 438-3340. Party reservations must be made on or after May 23rd.

-Monday, May 25, 2026: Memorial Day.

June 2026 Events

-Saturday, June 6, 2026: Rising Sun Summer Fest-4-10:30pm. Main & Poplar Streets downtown Rising Sun. Arts & crafts, food vendors, Kid Zone with Let’s Bounce inflatables, professional face painter, Cincinnati Circus balloon artist & stilt walker, 360 video camera, and live music including Not Johnny and Top this Band. Cincinnati deejay J.D. Hughes. Special guests including 2026 Miss Indiana State Festival Queen Jordyn Leininger, and Indiana State Festival Association executive director, Doug Weisheit, with their ISFA-1 bus. Zootopia 2 movie showing at 8pm. Free popcorn by the Boy Scouts. Free face painting. Dori’s Rolled Ice Cream will have ice cream for sale, free make-it, take it craft. Bring your own lawn chairs/blankets. FREE and open to the public.

-Sunday, June 21, 2026: Father’s Day. First Day of Summer.

Arts & crafts, food vendors, Foam Zone, 360 video camera, and live music including the Groove Masters Cincinnati and the Whammies. Special music solo performances by the 35th Indiana Pipes & Drums & the National Anthem by 13-year old Maddie C. Music; and Cincinnati emcee/deejay J.D. Hughes. Fireworks by Flying G along Front Street at 10:00pm. Bring your chairs/blankets.

-Wednesday, July 10-14, 2026: Student Art Show. Ohio County Historical Society.212 S. Walnut St., Rising Sun. Rising Sun, IN.

-Saturday, July 11, 2026: America’s 250th Birthday Tea. Ohio County Historical Society. 212 S. Walnut St., Rising Sun, IN.

-Sunday, July 12, 2026: Shiner Pride “Show Your Pride” Car Show. Downtown Rising Sun, IN. Presented by the Rising Sun High School Band Boosters. Proceeds are a fundraiser for the band. $15 per vehicle re-registration is open until June 15, 2026. After, including day of show, is $20 per vehicle.
