-Wednesday, July 10-14, 2026: Student Art Show. Ohio County Historical Society.212 S. Walnut St., Rising Sun. Rising Sun, IN.
-Saturday, July 11, 2026: Red, White & Blue Open House. 1-4pm. Ohio County Historical Society. Tour the museum, walk through the Courtyard Garden and step aboard their full-size flatboat. A special visit from President Abraham & Mary Todd Lincoln. 212 S. Walnut St., Rising Sun, IN. Desserts/snacks served. More info: (812) 438-4915.
-Saturday, July 11, 2026: Dumpster Day. 7am-11am or until full. City of Rising Sun
-Sunday, July 12, 2026: Ice Cream Social. 1-4pm. Rising Sun Methodist Church. 110 S. Walnut St., Rising Sun. $1.50 per dip. Vanilla, strawberry, pineapple, butter pecan, or chocolate. Desserts available. Eat-in or carry-out. Profits will be used for mission projects.
-Sunday, July 12, 2026: Shiner Pride “Show Your Pride” Car Show. Downtown Rising Sun, IN. Presented by the Rising Sun High School Band Boosters. Proceeds are a fundraiser for the band. $20 per vehicle. Registration is 8am-noon. -Saturday, July 18, 2026: Back to School Bash. Rising Sun High School. (Downey St. Back Door Entrance) 11am-2pm. Presented by the Ohio County Health Department, Ohio County students (included home schooled students) can attend and received free school supplies & backpacks, hair cuts, immunizations & health screenings. Hotdogs & shaved ice served. Kids can enjoy the foam machine & bounce house, water balloon toss, partner booths w/games & prices.
-Saturday, July 18, 2026: Community Back to School Party. 6:30-9:30pm. Rising Sun City Pool. All Ohio County families are invited for an evening of swimming, music, games, and fun. Presented by Drug Free Ohio County.
-Saturday, July 25, 2026: Ice Cream Social. Bear Branch Fire Department. 4pm until sold out. FREEWILL DONATIONS. Sloppy Joe’s, hot dogs, homemade desserts, iced tea/lemonade and eight flavors of ice cream to choose from. 2580 Milton Bear Branch Road. Dillsboro (Ohio County). Proceeds support your local volunteer firefighters.

-Friday, August 28, 2026: Fun in Rising Sun-Critter Cinema Family Night. 5-8pm. Visitors Center. 217 N. High Street, Rising Sun, IN. Boots & Mini Moo’s; Face Painter, Make-it, Take it-Craft, Dori’s Rolled Ice Cream (50% off select items w/JAM Real Estate Ice Cream Sponsor), Face Painter, popcorn profited by the Scouts, Zootopia2 movie begins at 8pm.

-Sunday, September 13, 2026: Grandparents Day.
-Friday & Saturday, September 18-19, 2026: Navy Bean Fall Festival. Downtown Rising Sun, IN. Presented by the City of Rising Sun, the annual festival features beans & bands, amusement rides, vendors, and live entertainment along the riverfront. Info: Rising Sun City Hall. Friday bands include Rising Sun Church of Christ Worship Team and Lunch Box. Saturday bands include Band a Hoosiers; the Marty Connor Band; Are You Ready for It (A Taylor Experience); and the Whammies.
-Saturday, September 19, 2026: Navy Bean Fall Festival Parade. 10:30am. Downtown Rising Sun. Presented by the City of Rising Sun. Floats, walkers, cars, tractors, and more. Judged & unjudged categories. Line up at boat ramp by Maiden Lane.
-September 20, 2026: Yom Kippur.
-September 22, 2026: First Day of Autumn.
-Thursday-Saturday, September 24-26: City of Rising Sun Fall Community Yard Sale. Days/times vary from resident-to-resident. Call (812) 438-3340 to be added to the Yard Sale list distributed by the City of Rising Sun.
