-Sunday, September 6, 2026: Ice Cream Social. St. Peter Lutheran Church. Begins as 4pm until sell out. Freewill offering. Located at the corner of Bear Branch & South Fork Roads in Ohio County. Seven flavors of homemade ice cream, pie, cake, BBQ, hot dogs & drinks.

-Friday, September 11, 2026. Patriot Day.

-Friday & Saturday, September 18-19, 2026: Student Art Show during the Navy Bean Fall Festival. Heritage Hall, 214 Main Street, Downtown Rising Sun, IN. Pottery and items available for sale. Hours: Friday, 9/18: 4-8pm and Saturday, 9/19: 12pm-6pm.
-Friday & Saturday, September 18-19, 2026: Navy Bean Fall Festival. Downtown Rising Sun, IN. Presented by the City of Rising Sun, the annual festival features beans & bands, amusement rides, vendors, and live entertainment along the riverfront. Info: Rising Sun City Hall. Friday bands include Rising Sun Church of Christ Worship Team and Lunch Box. -Saturday, October 17, 2026: Ohio County Historical Society Bake-Off. Cookies, cakes, cheesecakes & pies. Entries must be in by Noon. Age categories 12 & under; 13-17; and 18 and up. An entry fee is required. Deadline to ender is October 16, 2026. Info: (812) 438-4915.
-Saturday, October 24, 2026: Red Wolf Rampage 5K and 10K Walk Run. Red Wolf Sanctuary. 3027 SR 262, Rising Sun. Pre-register online until October 14. Register in person by 8:30am on the day of the event. Proceeds will be used to support the sanctuary and its endeavors to preserve native North American wildlife through education and rehabilitation.
